Where the Islanders play

UBS Arena stands in Elmont, a Nassau County community on Long Island, and opened officially on November 19, 2021. It is the youngest building the state's three National Hockey League clubs use by more than two decades: Madison Square Garden opened in 1968 and the Sabres' arena in Buffalo in 1996. Every one of the 42 Islanders home dates in 2026-27 is at UBS Arena, and the schedule lists no home game anywhere else.

Where the Islanders finished

Sixth in the Metropolitan Division at 43-34-5 and 91 points, one behind Columbus and four ahead of New Jersey, in a season Carolina finished at 113. The interesting comparison sits above them. Philadelphia and Washington both won 43 games too, the same as the Islanders, and finished third and fourth on 98 and 95 points; the separation came in the overtime column, where Philadelphia banked 12 points to the Islanders' 5. Fifth through seventh in the division was decided by five points in total.

October to April on Long Island

The season opens at Toronto on September 30, 2026, and the home schedule starts three nights later, on October 3 against New Jersey. The Rangers come out to Elmont on December 20 and February 18, 2027, and the Islanders go into Manhattan on October 6 and February 12. Buffalo visits on January 20 and March 21, and the return in Buffalo is February 3. The season ends at home against Columbus on April 10, 2027.

The winter is the road-heavy stretch. January holds nine away games against five at home and includes a western trip through Seattle, Vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton in the first nine days of the month. From late January the club plays six straight away from Elmont, a run that ends in Manhattan on February 12. March reverses it, with eight home dates against five on the road.
